Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
A Major Change for Sole Traders and Landlords
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is changing the way self-employed individuals and landlords keep records and report information to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
From 6 April 2026, qualifying individuals with gross income from self-employment and property above the relevant threshold will need to keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC.
